MR AYODELE OLADIPO has extensive and varied experience in the hotel industry spanning over two decades. As a first year student at the Polytechnic, he combined his curricular activities with a supervisory job at Faaji Palace Hotel in Owo town based on the recommendation of his Head of Department - Mr Eli Tiwagagbe, a Ghanaian. He has since that time, had over 25 years experience in Catering and Hotel Management.
He had once worked in the following hotels: Diganga Hotel; Ile-Ife; Motorway Motel; Ondo-State; 3A'S Hotel, Ijebu-Ode, Ogun State; and Catering Department of Lagos University Teaching Hospital (LUTH),
Idi Araba, Lagos State.
He joined the workforce of Odu'a Investment Group Limited, the owner of Lagos Airport Hotel, Premier and Lafia Hotels, as Food and Beverage Superintendent at the Lagos Airport Hotel where he rose to the position of Food and Beverage Manager of this 300-Bedroom Hotel, comprising 7 Banquet Halls, 6 Bars, 2 Kitchens, 3 Restaurants with an adequate room service operation.
As a result of his outstanding performance, he was transferred to Lafia Hotel, Ibadan as the Unit General Manager to cause a positive entrepreneurial revolutionary change in the Hotel already earmarked for sale.
With God on his side, the Hotel with less than 17 functional rooms was repositioned to 60 bedrooms with the state-of-art facilities that made it become the best Hotel in the South-West of Nigeria. This achievement led to his being promoted to the position of the Managing Director/CEO of the Hotel, and also served as the precursor of an International award, which he received from Madrid, Spain, in 2001.
He was later transferred to the Premier Hotel of 87 Bedrooms that (the Premier Hotel) was also in a perpetual loss for 4 years, thus prompting him to battle with the archaic structures/facilities of the Hotel, which he met, to undertake taking the Hotel out of its mesmerizing mess.
In six months of re-engineering, re-structuring and re-positioning of the Hotel, he and his team changed the Hotel to a profit-oriented establishment and set it back on the track of a 3-Star Hotel - all these were achieved by dint of hard work, teamwork, dedication and staff cooperation.
During his tenure as the Managing Director/CEO of Lafia Hotel, he established a Consultancy Unit which specialized in the turning around of hotels. The first client of the Unit was Motel Royal, Ile Ife, which was successfully re-commissioned and made operational. At Premier Hotel, Mr Ayodele Oladipo continued with the Consultancy Unit and undertook the Management and operations of several hotels.
Also at Premier Hotel, he maximized the facilities there to the fullness by getting the Catering School, whose resuscitation was his (Mr Ayodele Oladipo's) brainchild, affiliated with OTHM, London, revitalizing the Night Club, consolidating the filling station and creating the Native Market and the Games Village.
Mr Ayodele Oladipo is a well-bred, courteous professional who is an embodiment of over 12 years of Managerial Skills.
